BiG Bone Corleone hails from the streets of Johannesburg. Pimville, Soweto. I have been rapping from the early age of 13. Rapping in and around Gauteng from as far back as my first year of doing it. Began showcasing my skills in a downtown called Le Club amongst pioneers such as Skwatta Kamp, Amu, Mr. Selwyn. I soon became a crowd favourite and I was approached to feature on a Saturday radio slot at Voice of Soweto FM, hosted by Zak Dakile. I was put up with other up & coming rappers of that time & won a rap battle there. Approached to sign to BMG records but opted to finish my schooling. At tertiary level, headlined 'Joburg HipHop Sessions' hosted at Bassline alongside names like Landmynes. Went on to record, print, replicate & distribute my mixtape 'Bone Appetit' independently. Featured on Rap Activity Jam on YFM hosted by AK & recorded jingle for the show. Performed at more well-known clubs & sessions in the city (The Woods, Cool Runnings, 1808). Opened for Gangs Of Instrumentals at a second visit to Bassline. Presently completing first album 'Spit Or Swallow: Use Your Head'. Lead single 'Black Superman' is currently playing on YFM, 5FM, Metro FM. With my album, I'm trying to establish myself as an artist, not just a rapper. To heighten the quality of HipHop in South Africa, incorporating all my musical influences from early 60's Funk to Kwaito, the emotion in Soul Music, the almost prophetic way experiences, the ups & downs and wonder of life is spoken of and told, and expose how versatile the rap game is. I never stopped writing about my experiences, to get things off my chest and out my system keeping in mind that I'm definitely not the only dude going through the things I was going through, though our reasons and motives are different person-to-person. For a long time growing up, many admired me, thinking I was living a dream or movie, some were jealous, some bit the style. It made me stronger, gave me time to myself and think a lot of things over: why I'm here, what I've achieved or lost through this lifetime, where I'm going with my talents, how to learn from my weaknesses and flaws. It's all written and should be told to inspire whoever listens and understands.
